Solar energy is one of the most abundant and clean sources of renewable energy on Earth. It can be harnessed in various ways, depending on the type and scale of the application the methods of solar energy harvesting include:
Photovoltaic (PV) Cells: These semiconductor devices directly convert sunlight into electricity through the photovoltaic effect.
Solar Thermal Collectors: These capture sunlight to heat a fluid, producing thermal energy for various applications.
Solar Water Heaters: These systems use solar energy to heat water for domestic or industrial use.
Concentrated Solar Power (CSP): CSP plants use mirrors or lenses to concentrate sunlight onto a small area, generating intense heat for electricity generation.
Solar-Powered Ventilation: Solar panels power fans or ventilation systems to circulate air in buildings.
Solar Chimneys (Solar Updraft Towers): Utilize temperature differences to create an updraft that drives turbines for electricity generation.
Solar Drying: Solar energy is used for drying agricultural products, fruits, vegetables, and grains.
Solar Ovens (Solar Cookers): Concentrate sunlight onto a cooking container to cook food using solar energy.
